HELP! Please

Hi All,

I have just purchased the Event Calender and now need some help to get it up and running, as I am a first time user of this type of facility/item. I have created a webpage onto which I wish to place the Event Calander and Jason has kindly uploaded the whole lot into my gci-bin. Now I need to know how to move it across to my preferred page and then get it working. Any help would be greatly appreciated by this lost Aussie!

Fatal error: Call to undefined function daily_cycle()

The other day I made some changes to the how the members list looked. Everything worked perfectly. Today, I get:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function daily_cycle() in [...address...]members.php on line 0"

I do not know if this is the result of anything I changed or not.

I did a search on the error, but the results I received seem to only be instances of the error and not any information on its cause or how to fix it.

Any suggestions?

How to include & number of random quotes

Hy,
I found your script could be very useful, but I encounter following problems:

1. I don't know how to include random_quote.cgi file into my index.php file. If I use include statment , I get some long unreadeble text.

2. Number of random quotes doesnt work. If I run random_quote.cgi it allways displays 1 random quote, eaven if I have set to display 3 in admin.cgi control pannel

i was thinking of going sentry login but then i remembered it's a monthly charge and you don't control the data i.e. you cant export your records. but you can set up a screen scraping script.(yea right) so a quick google search smacked me into Jason's goodies. Years back I bought his form processor cgi. Loved it and it's running on many many systems today still. good work dude!! so i gave the membership a try and found the same quality and soon, with this latest development, his work is going on a national firm's kiosk.

and jason is great at supporting his goods. thanks man.

I was able to purchase and get a membership site launched in less than a week thanks to the support here. Many questions answered quickly and completely.

The only thing I would add to the support knowledge base is a video explaining the set up of a typical site explaining where to find the different pages you are looking for. I did a little spinning (granted I needed to get it up fast) looking for where to modify the files. This would probably have save them a few of my unending questions.

I am sure i have either asked for this before, or have seen it, but cannot find it.

IS it possible to seperate the members that go to the inactive folder and those who i want to make inactive/susspend/ban.

This way i will know for what reason they are inactive.

Once again, I'm stuck with a customer who wants special forms, which I can't supply without understanding forms more.

But fortunately, I do know someone who does! Jason is the person I turn to for anything to do with forms. I know I'll be helped and I know it will be fast.

Today was another staggering example of quality support. My Client is happy, I am happy and the form works the way it's supposed to.

Skipping Preview

Hi again, Jason

This client is getting tiresome.
Now what he wants is - a mini form where someone just clicks a checkbox to agree to the terms & conditions and is then moved directly to a page which includes a paypal button. The page with the paypal button can only be reached if the user agrees to the Terms and conditions by clicking in the box.

For me, this would mean that the "next" button has to redirect to that page, rather than going via the preview and thank you pages.

How do I do that?

Can't access admin.cgi anymore

The forms directory is been installed in html directory. I made some changes in .html files and by mistake uploaded the whole folder html incl. forms to the webserver again. Since then any of the forms and admin.cgi aren't accessable anymore (http://www.sichtart.at/html/forms/admin.cgi). The permission on prog_files is still set to 777 and I renamed the last setup.dat. (setup.dat.2008-04-backup.cgi) to setup.dat.cgi. (Now there are two setup.dat.cgi on the server). But nothing helped.

Hi: I think avoid password sharing prevention is very important.

One report that is missing is a simple list like this:

[User Name] [Email] [IP Addresses]
Mike aaa@aaa.com 15
Peter bbb@bbb.com 1

This could help to find fast people who is sharing passwords.
In the example you can see Mike entering from 15 different IPs, so he is clearly sharing password.

Another option could be to let export the LogIn Reports to a txt file so it coul be imported and analized in MS Excel.

What do you think?

Upgrade and general questions

Hello.
1) I currently have version 2.1 and would like to upgrade; however, I do not see how to get the upgrade without buying the software again. A search on the matter resulted in this thread, which would seem to be a similar case for me (I cannot find the download for the upgrade in the client area). Any and all help is appreciated. Am I correct in assuming the 2.3 upgrade includes the 2.2 changes?

2) I am still developing my site and trying to determine the best setup for it. I have not tried this yet, but would it be possible (and would it be wise) to install the software to the root directory (e.g. "mydomain.com/register.php" instead of "mydomain.com/software_subfolder/register.php")?

3) Is it possible and safe to rename "admin.php" to something more private just as long as it matches in the "Admin URL / Address" field in the Program Settings?

Calendar stopped working!

Hi, my CGI Event Calendar suddenly stopped working.

The error I get is:
Template : File '/_cal.html' does not exist

I get a similar error when I try to access the admin page:
Template : File '/_cal_admin_list.html' does not exist

Any ideas as to how I can fix this (I am not a programmer)?

Allowing Multi Users to access a paid For Account

I am new to using Membership Manager, and trying to work out a way to achieve an objective, that possibly others may have had too.
:(
My subscriptions will range from single user to business and corporations, who have unlimited users.

I am looking at an effective way of allowing any employees of a subscribed multi user business to set up an account to access data. I had thought that all users must use a valid email address from the subscribed business to set up the free account for the duration of the paid for account, but not sure how or if I would achive this.

As the site would be used by several businesses, I acnnot set up a different site for each business.

Any ideas welcome.

Suggestion - Block users with IP

I have a cpl of ppl who constantly try to register uisng all sorts of email addresses. but all orginating from one IP addy.

Would it be possible to add a "Banned/blocked" type system where i can enter an IP address (and add to it).

This is then checked against any user login?

User can not Log In

User Logs in but Log In is not acknowledge by his PC.
From "login box" - User enters valid username and password, clicks Login and nothing happens and username - password text is cleared.
MM Admin acknowledges a log in has occurred.
If user puts in incorrect details they are taken to Control Panel with correct error message "Authentication Failed!"
Again, if correct details are put into control panel nothing happens and username - password text is cleared.
MM Admin acknowledges a log in has occurred and even the "Forgot Password" function works for User.

Basic protection is being used for membership pages.

No other Users have a problem (yet). User has a variety if security programs and has even tried turning them off but with out success.

renew length question

What number should I enter in the RE-BILL/RENEW LENGTH field when I want the program to automatically send a reminder notice to a customer to renew his subscription.

When I entered 365 the program automatically renewed the customer. Should I enter zero?

Having had a few problems sending messages to my customers/members, where they say they didnt get the message (via email).
would it be possible, perhaps as a "Bolt -on" for a module that the site admin could send a message to a member, that would display when they log in? (similar to ths forum)

This way i dont have to block their account, send them an emial to give me more info, then unblock them.

I could see lots of uses for it and would be willing to pay for usch an upgrade/module.

Please pardon if I am not seeing answers in front of me...

We have a site with multiple paid groups, each for which we would have specific products. We are using PHP-Fusion CMS product. Am I correct in that we would add this script wherever we would need to add products to those private pages? Is that within license parameters? And if so, is it possible for us to autofill some of the data on the form from the variables available in our existing program (it would be custom coding, yes - but just wondering if it is possible with the way in which the script is received)?

Finally, how are we notified of the orders? It seems that there is no central admin panel, but rather each purchase is individual - which is ok, just not undertsanding how we receive notification of order so it can be applied to our main system?

Request - Time format

i would like to see an option to display the date in various formats, thus covering customers who live outside of the US style format.

I get many emails asking me why their expire date is not 12 months. eg; 12/02/2009 (12th feb 09), when it is really 2nd dec 09.
