It would be great if a user could have a label field (unrestricted size). I always include items such as instructions and/or section headings in many of the forms I have created in the past.
The subtext is limiting (both in size and placement). It would be a real asset to allow label fields that span across the entire width of the form. This would allow for comments, instructions or statements that reinforce information in the form itself.

Do you have an example form we can take a look at? I think I understand what you're looking for.
Curious if we could make that happen with the spacer field.
Trying to modify the spacer was the very first thing I tried.
The form is located here
http://www.staffingofyork.com/f2e/forms....10&begin=1
You'll notice I've put this application to the test with this form (ultimately it will be a 10 page form).
There's a lot of textual info that has to go on the final page (info like payroll policy, sexual harassment policy, safety, etc.) I think I could get away with pointing to another page if I could insert a hyperlink somewhere.

If you threw a spacer on a page (no form fields) - then customized the HTML header / footer of that page I think you can accomplish what you want.
(if you're looking for a bunch of text/blurbs w/out any form fields?)
I do like the idea of no spacer / field but a label that stretches across the table where you can insert text/HTML you wish.
I hope you'll bear with me as I learn this application. I attempted to modify the header and footer on an empty page (with just the spacer) but it appears none of the modifications are there. When I go back to edit the html in the admin section the information is there but it isn't appearing on the page when I view the form.
I did manually modify the /interface/html_form.php page so that all the site elements (menus, sidebars, etc.) were available on all pages. Would that prevent me from using the html feature within the application?
I created a new form (I used the legend_form.php page instead) and the information appears. So I guess my question is - does manually modifying the page prevent you from adding header / footer info into the form?

Could it be an HTML syntax/code issue to where its not showing?
Customizing the template should as you did should not make any difference on what you can add to the HTML header / footer areas.
Did you check the source of the output on that page? Is what you entered in the source? Maybe some HTML / Code is corrupt so its not displaying correctly?
If you scale down what you entered maybe by just putting "header" in the header section and "footer" in the footer section see if it shows up.
Let me know on that.

You're right - on just a spacer it does not seem to be pulling in the header / footer text. Have you tested if you add a simple question field to that page?
maybe if you have a privacy policy have a selection for "yes i agree".
I'm going to look into this for you and get back to you.
I have to say you have done great work with the program & your form customizations!
Well I finally finished the form. It took about 8 hours to complete this thing (part of the time ivolved learning the application).
I have a suggestion for the next version (if you're interested) --- when creating emails and the results pages it would be a great help to have an insert variable function where you could click on the varible and have it insert in the form (eliminates the chance of typos).
I must say this is a pretty good product - although it did take a long time to create the page I'm very satisfied with the results. Hopefully you'll be able to add more components to use in future versions such as labels - I managed to work around most of my needs on this particular form.
To be honest I probably pushed too much on this form - I should have created a database application to handle this but it worked out in the end.
Yeah for a form as complex (10 pages wow!) I imagine it would take some time. As I'm sure you know any tool requires a little time to get familiar with but once you're its pretty smooth sailing.
I like the feature suggestions you have given and will look to implement them in the next release.
Hopefully your next form you need to create for a client is less then 10 pages
But again, you did an excellent job!
