I need some help with installing the script and getting it to work--but I am leary about providing you my FTP login information.

What assurances can you give?

Everything is uploaded but apparently the sendmail portion of things isn't working even though the path to sendmail is correct.

Is this for CGI Mailing List Manager? If so I'll move the thread to the correct forum. I believe so since you stated "sendmail".

You can submit a support ticket. We do not require you provide FTP details. If its up and running we can just take a look at the admin.
