I requested a free (!) trial install of PHP Membership Manager software on my website. Support responded immediately and attempted an install -- which went perfectly except for my webhost's outdated ionCube loader. It was a total headache getting my webhost to upload a current version, but i2 stood by me the whole time, testing and retesting. They even told me what to say to my webhost to get the job done.
Finally, my webhost performed, PHP Membership Manager was working, and i2 even extended my license so I could test drive a bit longer. (You guys are great!) I made my purchase three days later.
Here's my take on the program: It's lean, mean, and classy -- and quietly robust. I reviewed many different programs, but I was searching for one without all the useless bells and whistles that clutter functionality. In my world, the easier it is to use and understand -- the more intelligent the underlying programming.
I had it up and running in an afternoon and ready to show my client. What's more, I didn't have to tweak the interface to make the demo "look good." The interface design, which can be modified via templates, is spot on neat. The online user's manual is a work of art.
In the end, though, what means the most to me is that I know I can trust i2 for any support I need. These people are really there, watching my back. When's the last time you experienced that kind of service? They really made me look good to my client and, of course, they raised the bar for all my other providers. I'm now spoiled. So, I'm off to look over their other software products.
