No new release date at this time. Just a feature mentioned for the next that can be available now for v2 users.
How do we get this new sub-feature?
Does this mean the feature will display both a text box to enter user's email or username?

Are you using version 2.0 or 2.1? I can send you the updated file if v2.0 so you can use this.
You can simply rename the e-mail address label:
e-mail/Username or e-mail or username
It can be one field - either or can be used.
I currently have v2.1 installed.
